Doddington Hall was built between 1593 and 1600 by Robert Smythson for Thomas Tailor, who was a lawyer, the Recorder to the Bishop of Lincoln. It is a grade I listed building. It is in private ownership today. The Hall and Gardens are open to the public. The parkland and gardens of Doddington Hall are listed Grade II* on the Register of Historic Parks and Gardens.
This is a very easy 1.8 mile stroll round the estate of Doddington Hall, near Lincoln. You can extend our walk 2.5 miles by visiting Doddington Pyramid, a folly in the shape of a pyramid built from recycled concrete stands 10m tall. Before crossing the field to the gate, look to your left and you'll see the pyramid in the distance. Just follow thw path to it.
